WHY USE US?: There are many reasons to use us? Read below to see a few of those reasons. Why not go to “H&R Block” instead of Army Post Accounting? 1) Most locations not open year around. If you have a problem with your return in June the person you talk to most likely won’t be the person who prepared your return. 2) The person working on your return most likely won’t be there next year. Although they are the biggest “white collar” employer in the US, the low pay causes a serious turn over in employment. 3) The person working on your return is trying to sell you something else. Block has been sued several times for pushing IRA’s that have been bad investments for the client. 4) The person working on your return most likely has very little experience to find the best way to maximize your refund or minimize your tax due. 5) Most importantly, the price. Most of the returns done by the large chain or franchise companies will cost you $150 or more for a simple return. Sometimes pushing the price up so high that lower income people have no choice but to take the Rapid Refund option which increases the fees more. Most small business returns will range from 250 to 600 dollars. Why go to Army Post Accounting? 1) Although we only have one location we are open all year around. We always welcome walk-ins but we do suggest a call to schedule an appointing. 2) We will be here next year. We have a smaller staff but Chris and Ed are here all year, and will be here next year too. 3) We don’t try and sell you anything. If you have questions about investments during our conversations we have people we network with that can help but we never push any investment tools to any of our clients. 4) From both experience and continuing education we have the skills make your time with us as painless as possible. 5) Most importantly, the price. Our returns begin at $75 and although you might find a person operating out of their home for cheaper, will they be there in June? Or do they work for someone else during the day? Can they go to the IRS on your behalf? Our small business returns begin at 150 dollars. Why not use an off the shelf tax program? 1) If you make less then $50,000 per year (both you and your spouse) and have no home mortgage and feel confident enough, I would recommend using the on-line services of www.irs.gov 2) The software is set up to ask a lot of questions to cover every subject. To that point it often takes longer to complete one of these returns then an appointment with us. 3) If you have technical problems or tax questions it becomes almost impossible to complete. 4) Once you take into account the price of a premium software package, time and costs to e-file it you may have saved almost no money.
